Channel 4

We were asked to produced unique Arabic/Islamic Calligraphy and the animated title sequence on behalf of Watershed TV for the Channel 4 series ‘4Ramadan’.

Offering a fresh perspective on Ramadan and the lives of British Muslims, this series was the first ever of its kind on British television and caused some controversy over its bold and brave approach to showcasing the Muslim holy month.

We focused on using inter-weaving techniques of traditional Thuluth script and bright contemporary colours to give a fresh look to this Ramadan season. What follows is a snapshot of the development and detail of the project design and animation.
